About

DSCN58632wMy name is Bill Claxton. I’m a father of three married children with three grandchildren and one on the way.  I’ve spent the bulk of my life, so far, doing things with my hands like building cabinets, painting, landscaping………

My gifts lean towards the arts – painting, drawing, music, photography, writing…

I started writing recently because, well to be honest, I was bored and looking for another outlet for my creativity. My stories are frequently about events from my past and range from serious to seriously ridiculous.

One of the driving forces in my life is the God of the Bible. I don’t claim to be a Bible scholar, but I do believe that God has orchestrated events in my life, giving me something worth writing about. I’ve had the pleasure throughout my life to meet interesting people both in and out of the US who shared my beliefs and they have become a vital part of my family.

Life is full of turmoil and anyone who tells you differently is either living in an emotional vacuum or is a compulsive liar. It was for this purpose that I started this blog. Because each person has days full of disappointment and trouble, we all need a little lift, something simple to brighten our moods. I want this site to be an encouragement to anyone who reads it and I hope it makes you feel better about yourself.

While it is not my intention to offend, sometimes the truth is offensive. So please accept my apologies in advance if I write something that you disagree with. And hey, it’s okay to disagree; just because I think something is right doesn’t make it so.

The coffee theme is a work in progress. Basically I’m a coffee addict. I figure there are three driving forces behind my writing skills: God, a vivid imagination, and coffee………lots of it.

So for now……

Thanks for stopping by my site and thanks for reading! Grace and peace!

  5. Hi Bill, After reading so many of your posts theses past few weeks I finally got around to reading your “about” page. I have to say that we seem to be cut-from-the-same-cloth so to speak. I am not a scholar but love God, His Word and clearly see His hand in my life. I am addicted to coffee and have, what I like to call, an overly-active imagination. But that’s where our similarities end as I do not have the nice large family that you do and I live in New York. I would like to encourage you to keep up the good work because you encourage me each day. Thanks again, AL

    • Hey Al, one of the more rewarding things about being a Christian is the family we are all apart of in Christ. You’re never alone! I am eternally grateful for the friends I have developed as a result of my relationship with Christ and am honored to count you among them. Grace and peace! And thanks for the encouragement!

  6. What a wonderful family how blessed you are Bill, yes coffee in balance I enjoy this too and it does have some good nutritional benefits, I must Post about that one day, like Chocolate which is also good in moderation, it is often thought of as something to be avoided but God does not make junk.

Yes I will promise you Bill, if I disagree with you I will let you know and why and also confirm with Scripture and if you believe I’m in error please do the same but you can be assured unless something is confirmed as God’s Truth, I do not share it.

I’m looking forward to a smile or too from you, God gave us the gift of Laughter and we should use it , good humor is a blessing.

You stopped by recently and liked a few things on a new blog of mine, The Prodigal Letters. Thanks so much for taking the time. If you are ever interested, I have two other blogs you perhaps might find interesting.

InterviewwithLucifer.com – focusing on Christian fiction that I write
GlobalFlux.wordpress.com – focusing on real events from a biblical perspective

    Again, thank you.
